"Riverside" bed and breakfast, Cockermouth, Cumbria (The Lake District)
Riverside, 12, Market St, Cockermouth, Cumbria CA13 9NJ Tel: 01900 827504
We are a Georgian home run by two friendly ladies, Jean and Rachel, with comfortable beds and excellent breakfasts, centrally located next to the town hall. We have three bedrooms, one of which has twin beds and ensuite shower room/loo; the second has twin beds and a shared bathroom/loo (with a bath and a shower), and the third is a single room with shared bathroom/loo (with a bath and a shower). All are upstairs; there are some nice views from the bedroom windows (see photographs). Our breakfast room has views directly over the River Cocker.
Rates are £29.50 per night per person in the ensuite room, or £27 per night per person in the twin or single rooms which are not ensuite. For clarity, depending on other bookings it will often be possible for a single person to have sole occupancy of the ensuite for a very slightly greater sum (please ask), or of the non-ensuite twin. Please telephone us (01900 827504) for details of discounts available for stays of 3 or more nights.
Off-street parking is usually available, telephone us for details. We also have drying facilities, plus a bike lock-up. We can be seen on both a street map and an aerial photograph on our map and route planner (click here) page (opens as new page in your browser, leaving this page also open).
p.s. don't worry, we were OK during the (highly unusual, indeed, unprecedented) November 2009 flood - we are somewhat above the river.
